Lingfield Park tips - Wednesday 06/03/2013

Last night was a fantastic one for everyone concerned with Horseybets as we scored big in the Champions League with a double of Man United Real Madrid both teams to score and Dortmund to win with €21 returning a fantastic €50. Thanks to Paddy Power we also got our money back on our FGS bet as Ronaldo scored anytime so we are hoping to follow up that success with some wins on the horses today.

LINGFIELD
14:00 CLAIMING STAKES 1m 4f: Forecast bet - Stand Guard (5/6) and Right Stuff (6/5)
14:30 HANDICAP (0-65) 5f: Dorothy's Dancing @11/10 Insurebet 2 places
16:00 HANDICAP (0-70) 1m 5f: Red Mystique @9/4 Betting without favorite
16:30 HANDICAP (0-75) 1m 2f: Jewelled @11/4 Insurebet 3 places
17:00 APPRENTICE HANDICAP 1m: Indian Violet @11/4 Betting without favorite

Reasoning:

Stand Guard (5/6) and Right Stuff (6/5): This may be a four horse race but these are the only two with any sort of chance and with Stand Guard the more consistent of the two expect him to take the winners line with his rival close behind.

Dorothy's Dancing: Six-time Polytrack winner who has followed her 6f win here in January with a pair of creditable runs in defeat; up 2lb this time but clearly at the top of her game, conditions hold no terrors and more to recommend her than most.

Red Mystique: Red Mystique has been knocking on the door this winter and is well up to winning a race like this when everything falls into place.

Jewelled: Back down to her last winning mark and made very encouraging return to action at Kempton last week when hampered at a crucial stage and still only beaten a length; yet to win on the AW but has run well over C&D in the past and should make her presence felt this time.

Indian Violet: Only candidate in the field to have won last time out and with a penalty bringing her 4lb's lower you really can't afford to discount her again today.

Best of luck!

Tonight's football treble

With live games on Sky Sports and Setanta Sports tonight there is plenty of action to play on and we at Horseybets have compiled the following treble for you:

Sligo Rovers-1, Manchester City -1, Shamrock Rovers win - €5 returns €75

Reasoning:

Sligo Rovers have been scoring goals for fun in pre-season and in fact scored seven at the weekend in a friendly so they should have no problem dispatching weak Northern opposition at the Showgrounds on Monday night.

Manchester City haven't given up hope of catching rivals United just yet and with Villa still looking over their shoulder at the threat of relegation Mancini's men should have enough to win by a -1 margain away from home.

Shamrock Rovers made a slow start in the last round of the Setanta Cup but Lingfield have been awful in a poor league up North this year and with the home crowd being so pumped up for the visit of Northern Ireland's most successful team don't expect Trevor Crolly's men to take this one lightly.

Best of luck.

Southwell racing tips - Monday 04/03/2013

Yesterday was a fantastic day here at Horseybets as we secured a 12/1 winner at Leopardstown thanks to He'llberemembered while Gareth Bale first goal scorer @4/1 was very easy money. Let's see can we follow it up today and keep our average of three winning tips a day alive.

SOUTHWELL
14:00 NOVICE CHASE 2M - Conquisto @4/7
14:30 HANDICAP CHASE 2m 4f 110yds: Have you seen me @9/2
15:05 NOVICE HURDLE 2m 4f 110yds: Houndscourt @6/4 place only 3 places
15:40 NOVICE HANDICAP 2m 4f 110yds: Overdante @9/2
16:15 HANDICAP HURDLE 2m 4f 110yds: City press @11/8

Reasoning: Why should you follow our tips today? Here's the reasoning behind our selections:

Conquisto: CONQUISTO looks to have found a decent opportunity to resume winning ways and will be hard to stop despite his penalty. Second behind a top prospect last time out at Kempton on testing ground, today's conditions should see her home.

Have you seen me: A Cheltenham Gold Cup runner last December, that say's it all about this horses pedigree. On favorable ground today and with something to prove afer a poor showing last time out, this is without doubt one to watch today with S.Twiston Davies on board.

Houndscourt: Hinted at ability in Cork maiden hurdle on debut last August and won point at second attempt in October; 5-1, encouraging British debut in tongue-tie (retained) for new yard in AW bumper in January and place claims back over hurdles with ground to suit. If you fancy her for the win it's a cracking 10/1 but we'll play safe with a top three finish @6/4.

Overdante: Deserved winner at Doncaster last time out and by far and away the best horse on paper in this race. Of course races aren't played out on paper but if Overdante runs to it's maxium ability today it should win comfortably despite a 6lb rise.

City press: Loves a run over hurdles and is looking for a hat-trick of wins here today after triumphs at Lingfield and Kempton, again if City press runs to it's maximum ability it should win with an excellent jockey in J.Maquire on board.

A lucky 31 on these five horses returns a possible €1479.78.

Best of luck.

North London derby - Top 3 bets

It's the North London derby today and with all the bookmakers trying to one up each other there are some great bets and enhanced specials to be had ahead of today's 4pm kick-off at WHL.

Horseybets will now search the markets for what we think are today's top bets:

1. Gareth Bale first goalscorer @7/2 (Paddy Power)
2. Over 3.5 @19/10 (Bet Victor)
3. Bale and Walcott anytime @7/1 (Sky Bet)

Reasoning

1. Paddy Power are offering double the odds if your first goal scorer goes onto score again anytime during the match and with Gareth Bale now the league's main man 7/2x2 would be an excellent return. If you fancy Bale to sore first but not again then I suggest placing your bet with Skybet who have Bale FGS @4/1.

2. These NL derbies are usually high scoring encounters with 14 goals in just the last two encounters! Bet Victor has the best odds at almost 2/1.

3. We've already talked about Bale but Walcott traditionally likes these games and has a good recent scoring record in games against the likes of Spurs and Chelsea so 7/1 with Sky Bet is hard to turn down.

Match prediction: Tottenham win @6/5
Score prediction: 3-1 Tottenham @14/1

GOOD LUCK

Today Leopardstown tips - Sunday 03/03/2013

Yesterday we had 3 second placed horses from our 5 selections with 2 of those returning our stake through the insurebet system but today we are hoping to go one better and add to our current average of 3 successful selections per day (Usually out of 4/5 picks, so not a bad average at all).

Today's selections come from Leopardstown in Ireland

14:40 HURDLE (5YO+) 2M 2F - Blackstairmountain @11/10
15:10 HANDICAP HURDLE 2M - St Devote @5/1
15:40 NOVICE CHASE 2M 1F - Rupert Lamb @2/1
16:10 HANDICAP CHASE 2M 5F - Hellberemembered @11/4 Place only 4 places
17:10 NAT HUNT  FLAT 2M - Ange Balafre @9/4 WO Fav.

Reasoning

Blackstairmountain: A grade 1 winner with two flat wins also two his name. That combination over jumps and flat always makes for a good horse and with the master Ruby Walsh on board blackstairmountain clearly justifies his favoritism.

St Devote:  Can be rated a serious contender having run a blinder to finish fourth to the progressive Tennis Cap here last month (several of today's rivals behind). Barry Geraghty takes the ride today having won three times previous on this horse.

Rupert Lamb: Former Howard Johnson inmate who has improved with each run over fences since his return after missing all of last season; really getting the hang of things to judge from his front-running course and distance win five weeks ago; can be fancied to uphold form with fourth-placed The Real Article.

Hellberemembered: Very consistent over hurdles while adapting well to chasing with a recent 2M 4F victory at Down Royal under his belt. Making his Handicap debut today and with no real market leader in this one we can see Hellberemembered finishing in the top 4 places at 11/4 while you can get his winning odds at a large 12/1.

Ange Balafre: It's a straight battle between Ange Balafre and the favorite Grecian Tiger in this one, so what can we do the eliminate the favorite? Back Ange Balafre in the betting without favorite market @9/4 (9/2 with fav). Nina Carberry loves a bumper and she's on board our selection today!

BEST OF LUCK!

Today's horse racing tips - Saturday 02/03/13

Yesterday was one of those days where we could have won everything but in the end luck went against us with two of our selections pipped at the post with jockey error the main cause resulting in a 28 day ban for Davey Probert who stopped ridding the favorite Paphos only to be beaten by a hairs width.

The main man at Lingfield yesterday however was jockey Adam Kirby who continued his amazing form on the AW track as he made it 11 wins from 27 rides at Linger.

Once again today our selections are from Lingfield and they are as follows:

13:40 SELLING STAKES 5F- Proper Charlie @11/10
14:15 HANDICAP (0-55) 5F- Imaginary Diva @5/1
14:50 HANDICAP (0-55) 6F- Artful Lady @9/4 Insurebet 3 places
16:00 HANDICAP (0-95) 1M- Loyalty @15/8 Insurebet 2 places
17:10 HANDICAP (0-75) 1M 2F- Gabriel the duke @5/4

Reasoning: Why should you follow our selections? Here's why:

Proper Charlie: Stepping down from 6f, Proper Charlie should have no problems returning to 5F having put in a respectable performance over that distance last time out. His main rival Where's Reiley carries a 6lb penalty and with Adam Kirby on board we're confident this favorite will get us a winning start.

Imaginary Diva: Is now 1lb below his last winning mark so if firing on all cylinders today should be right up there.

Artful Lady: Raised 3lb for her C&D success last month, but may well have more to offer under these conditions, so chance of a follow-up.

Loyalty: A 50% success rate in 2013 with 3 wins from 6. His latest win came just this week at Kempton and despite a penalty that day he won by a distance. Confidence of a double is high here.

Gabrial the duke: A winner for us earlier the week (Tuesday) and with no penalty this time out Gabrial the duke should cruise to victory and claim a well deserved hat-trick.

BEST OF LUCK.

Lingfield Park tips - Friday 01/03/2013

Yesterday was a historic day as Horseybets joined Twitter and as promised here is the blog to match!

Our first day in business saw us have one winning bet at Kempton racecourse while later that evening we followed it up with wins at the darts thanks to Wes Newton and RVB!

Today we are focusing on our favorite course which is Lingfield Park and we have picked out what will hopefully be 4 winners on the flat.

FRIDAYS TIPS:

Lingfield Park
14:00 SELLING STAKES 1m - Paphos @ 2/1
14:30 HANDICAP (0-65) 1m - Flamborough Breeze @ 1/2

15:40 HANDICAP (0-70) 5f - Danziger @ 6/5
16:15 HANDICAP (0-75) 7f - Jimmy The Snooze @ evens

Reasoning: Why have we picked these four horses?

1. Paphos - Successful not once or twice but three times on this track with his last triumph coming two races ago. A horrible 8th placed finish on his last ride but clearly didn't like the snowy conditions that day. Already a big market mover this morning from 7/4 into 2nd fav 2/1.

2. Flamborough Breeze - Thriving at present, completing a quick-fire hat-trick over 1m at Kempton on Wednesday night; manner of that victory suggests that another 6lb shouldn't be beyond her and obvious contender if turned out again.

3. Danziger - Top flat jocket Adam Kirby is looking to guide Danzinger to a hat-trick of wins following another impressive victory at Kempton Park during the week, has drifted out to 5/4 in the last few moments but should have plenty here.

4. Jimmy The Snooze - Won with plenty in the tank here 16 days ago and should cruise to victory again here today having finished 16l clear last time out.

A €1 Lucky 15 on these four horses returns returns roughly €97.

Good luck.
